US turned Guantanamo Bay captives into brokers
The CIA turned some Guantanamo Bay captives into double brokers then delivered them residence to aid the United States get rid of terrorists, it has emerged.

The CIA promised the captives liberty, protection for their family members and millions of dollars from the firm's secret accounts.

The program operated in the early years after the 11 September, 2001 strikes on America and was brought out in a secret facility built at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The eight small cottages were hidden behind a ridge covered in thick scrub and cactus. Those who were aware of the cluster of cottages knew it ideal by its codename "Dime Lane", a nod to the CIA's other secret facility at Guantanamo Bay, a prison called "Strawberry Specialization".

Virtually a dozen existing and former American officials have described aspects of the program. Several of the men who travelled through Dime Lane aided the CIA locate and get rid of top al-Qaeda operatives. Nonetheless, others stopped providing useful details and the CIA lost touch with them.
